Starting Invisalign Treatment from Scratch
If you're new to Invisalign and just searching from Fort Monmouth, the consultation flow is the same as for any new patient: exam, digital scan, treatment plan preview, and a clear quote. The same standards apply: Dr. Rabinovich personally examines every patient and oversees every plan. Treatment fees include all aligners, all visits, refinements at the end, and retainers when treatment finishes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you finish my Invisalign case at the same fee my previous provider quoted?
No — the fee resets based on what remains. If you have substantial aligners left from the original prescription, the transfer fee is typically lower than starting from scratch because the original planning and aligner manufacture were already paid to your previous provider. If most of the case is already complete and only refinements remain, the fee is lower again. Exact fees are quoted at the consultation.
Do I have to get my original provider's permission to transfer my case?
No, but it's a courtesy to let them know. They will need to release your treatment records when we request them, and the process is much smoother when there's no ill will involved. We can handle the records request on your behalf if you prefer.
What if I had Invisalign somewhere else years ago and my teeth have shifted back?
That's a relapse case, not a transfer. Treatment is essentially a fresh case using a new scan and new aligners. Cases where teeth have shifted years after prior treatment are common and typically run shorter than a first-time case because the movement needed is usually smaller.
Can you give me a second opinion if I haven't started treatment yet?
Yes. A second-opinion consultation is structured exactly like a regular consultation: full exam, digital scan, plan preview, and quote. The difference is that we also review the other practice's plan and quote, point by point, so you can make an informed decision. No commitment to switch — sometimes our recommendation is to proceed with the original provider.
How long do most Invisalign transfer cases take to complete?
Depends on how much treatment remains. Cases transferring with most of the prescription completed often finish in 3 to 6 months. Cases transferring early can run another 9 to 12 months. Specific estimates come at the consultation after we've reviewed your records.
