Adult Braces in Lincroft: A Real Option
Roughly half of all orthodontic patients in the United States are now adults. The shift has been gradual but real, driven mostly by the rise of clear aligners and lingual braces that do not announce 'I'm in treatment' to every coworker or client. For adult Lincroft residents, including the Brookdale Community College population and the young-professional demographic moving in and out of nearby Red Bank, adult braces are no longer a fringe choice.
Adult treatment tends to take slightly longer than treatment for teens because adult bone is less responsive to movement. But the outcomes are just as solid, and the cosmetic options are stronger than ever. The four discreet options we offer (LightForce, InBrace, Invisalign, Spark) all work in adult mouths and all keep the treatment relatively invisible during the workday.
When to Bring Your Child in for a First Visit
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check by age 7. Most kids that age will not need treatment yet, but the evaluation catches the small number of cases (crossbite, severe crowding, jaw growth issues, thumb-sucking effects) where early intervention prevents bigger problems later. The first visit is free, so there is no cost to the family for getting on the radar early. If treatment is needed at age 7, it is usually short and focused on guiding growth. If treatment is not needed yet, we will tell you that and recommend a follow-up evaluation in a year or two.
Insurance, Financing, and Cost
Braces costs vary by case, treatment type, and length. We run a benefits check on your insurance before the consultation so you walk into the conversation knowing your real out-of-pocket. At the consultation, we quote a fixed total - there are no surprise add-ons during treatment. For the portion not covered by insurance, we offer no-interest monthly payment plans through the office. No credit application required for the in-house plan.

Frequently Asked Questions About Braces in Lincroft
Is your Shrewsbury office close to Lincroft?
Yes. Most Lincroft addresses are 10 to 14 minutes from our office at 20 White Rd, Shrewsbury. The most direct route is Newman Springs Road east to Route 35 south, then left on White Road. The office has its own parking lot.
My child is 7 - is it too early for an orthodontic evaluation?
Not at all. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first check by age 7, even though most kids that age do not need treatment yet. The evaluation catches the small number of cases where early intervention prevents bigger problems later. If your child is not ready for treatment, we will tell you that, recommend a follow-up in a year or two, and send you on your way. The visit is free.
What are LightForce 3D printed braces?
LightForce is a system that takes a digital scan of your teeth and uses it to 3D print brackets shaped specifically to each tooth. Compared to traditional one-size-fits-all brackets, custom brackets fit more accurately and apply force more precisely. Practical benefits often include fewer adjustment visits, somewhat shorter treatment time, and a clearer, lower-profile look on the teeth. They work as a fixed appliance like traditional braces but are designed for adults and older teens who want a less visible option.
Do you offer Saturday appointments?
Yes. We offer Saturday appointments for patients whose schedules cannot easily accommodate weekday visits. Saturday slots fill up faster than weekday slots, so call ahead to book. Standard weekday hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
How do I know if my child needs braces?
Common signs include crowding (teeth overlapping or not fully erupting), gaps between teeth, a misaligned bite (overbite, underbite, or crossbite), thumb-sucking past age 5, mouth-breathing, frequent biting of the cheek or tongue, and difficulty chewing. If your pediatric dentist has mentioned any of these, a free consultation is the right next step. If you have not heard anything from the pediatric dentist but have noticed something that concerns you as a parent, trust that instinct and come in. The evaluation is no cost and we are honest if treatment is not needed yet.
